- Growth (0) September 20, 2013
Though it is well known in my dance group that I rarely, almost never repeat choreography. I often watch recordings of pieces we have done. I can see where we have been, what we have learned, and over all, gauge what we need to do as a whole to move forward. And as much as I love seeing improved dance skills and progress, growth can not always be measured in numbers and skill. Sometimes growth is best seen in the life of an individual. Watching us grow in faith, trust God like never before, growing confident in Him, and passionately pursuing His presence, praising God just because He is God, and watching Him work all things together for our good as we apply our faith, is thrilling. We don’t always get it right. Sometimes every step forward feels weighted down. We stumble, we fall, but we learn, and we grow.
How do you measure growth?
- Morning Exhortation September 19, 2013 (0) September 19, 2013 Diligently pursue the things of God. Live a Godly life with Holiness as your guide. Measure yourself only against His holy standard, embracing His will and purpose for your life.
- Look Out! (0) September 18, 2013
Look out there is a praise behind you!
As much as I am aware of God’s goodness towards me daily, I find that in reviewing my praise journals I am often amazed at just how good God has been to me. Prayers I have forgotten I prayed, being answered, praises that I have lifted to Him, turning around and being poured out as a blessing to me. I am so grateful that I can look in my past and see praises, in fact they are overtaking me!
Psalm 103 (KJV)
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.
- A Good Day (0) September 17, 2013
As dancers and choreographers we are always looking for a good song to worship to. Looking to be inspired by what we see, hear, and feel. But I am declaring that today, with its ups and downs, regardless of any situation or circumstance, is a good day. This moment is a good moment to give God, THE King of Glory, praise. Right now. Stop whatever you are doing and be inspired by His awesomeness. Worship The Sovereign One. Be inspired by Him and Him alone. His holiness, His wonderful goodness, His loving kindness. Today is a good day for praise. This moment is an awesome one for worship. Worship Him.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

The Lord Our God is good. There is none greater, no one like Him in the heavens nor in the earth. Gracious is the King of kings who was and is and is to come. And He, who is great, whose name drips glory, honorable above all, is concerned with every aspect of our lives. There is none like Him. Who can stand before Him? The earth quakes at His presence, my heart leaps for joy. His arms are extended in perpetual welcome. What honor can I give that has not already been given to Him who sits on the throne of heaven, He who has earth as His foot stool who with a thought, a word, spoke creation into being. He who knows my thoughts before they even come near to me. My inner being is not hidden from Him, every shadow, and hidden thing shines brightly before Him. Neither height nor depth, nor the broadest expanse can cover me, or keep me from His all seeing eyes. And He loves me. Absolutely. When I basked in sin. His love was sure. When I raged against Him. His love was sure. And now when, as my only sacrifice, my only gift, I yield myself to Him, to be used for His good pleasure. His love is sure. Hallelujah! Amen!
- Everyday God (0) September 13, 2013
If we are to display the praises of God, if we are to worship Him in dance, then I believe we must also live out a lifestyle of praise and worship on a daily basis. God is not only omnipotent, all powerful, but He is also omniscient, all knowing, and omnipresent, always with us. And not just when we are physically adorned with our praise garments, in the congregation of believers. So how we treat the stranger and those we work with,, the homeless and the rich, those who can do for us and those who can’t, matters. Are we overstepping our bounds overly insistent on having our own way? Is our pride setting us up for a fall? Is God someone we are too content with to pursue a serious relationship. Is God someone we hang around only if we are having a good time or is He truly Lord over our lives, with the absolute authority and ability to command that HIS will be done. Daily. Is God getting glory in our conversation, or are we trying to make fresh water come from a salt water fountain?
James 3:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

- Praise Journal (0) September 11, 2013
I praise God for His goodness. We can run into and up against evil, envy, and strife, in our daily lives, and truly it can wear down our praise if we allow it to . But I am reminded of this scripture, and I am reminded by this song.
Hebrews 12:26-28 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
26 Even then, his voice shook the earth; but now, he has made this promise:
“One more time I will shake not only the earth, but heaven too!”[a]
27 And this phrase, “one more time,” makes clear that the things shaken are removed, since they are created things, so that the things not shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we have received an unshakeable Kingdom, let us have grace, through which we may offer service that will please God, with reverence and fear.
