- It’s not about us (0) May 17, 2013
Study to worship God. To be a clear vessel He can shine through. Use your gifts talents and passions to point the way to Him. In all you do, in every move, every conversation, every thought, give God Glory. It’s not about us.

True worship can happen anywhere, even when you are alone at home. Behind closed doors. It is such an intimate celebration between you and God, that it really shouldn’t matter if you are in a bathroom, a hall way, or the back of a church. It is HIS joy to minister through us, a purified clean vessel. When we are dancing, the Holy Spirit woos us into worship. He offers, He compels, He partners with us to create an atmosphere filled with the essence of God, creating a place where we can commune with our Holy Father.

1 Corinthians 13:11a
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child
I remember being young and innocently in love with God. I truly and wholly found shelter in the very thought of Him, and when I danced (as I have stated before I began dancing at the age of 4) even though it was not dedicated to Him, I had peace. It has been said that today’s youth are going through so much more than we did when we were younger, I will submit to you that if this is so, then we should cover our young and protect them. Their spirits are still tender and innocent. A four, eight, eleven year old child should not have burdens so heavy that they can no longer go on. That being said we live in a corrupt world, and if I were to share half of what God brought me through from too tender an age, you would know I understand the testimony a child could have. To place the burden of ministering to a song of an adult in pain should not be placed on a child. If they are truly going through so much, then lets cover them, and show them the joy in praising God, not wallowing or trudging through a lifetime of pain contained in an adults lyrical testimony. Let them dance with open spirits in joy to the Lord, to songs that uplift His name, and celebrate His glory. Let them dance to music that tells of His goodness, not our struggles…let them have a refuge in worship.

There are times when as a leader you have a vision but those who you think will help are undermining you, when those around you feel you are not moving fast enough, not doing enough in this area or that area, that you have not progressed your vision quick enough, and cause all your decisions to be questioned. Know this though, You have been placed where you are by God. He has placed in you HIS vision, and the provision to accomplish HIS good pleasure. If no one tells you you are doing well, if those who are surrounding you use their words to discourage you, fall on your knees and hear God’s voice, the only one that matters. If you are still on the path He has placed you on, keep stepping. Even a small step in His direction is progress, if you step back and see that you have veered off course, recalibrate, get back on course and move on. There is forgiveness, redemption, restoration and no condemnation. Everyday you are breathing, you have another awesome opportunity to please God. Stay God centered.

Exodus 28:2-3 KJV
And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
- Praise (0) May 12, 2013
2 Chronicles 7:3And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

I am constantly learning as a professional. I seek out those in my field that are achieving levels of excellence that I have yet to aspire to. I attend conferences, and continually apply myself in the work arena. If then I am diligently stewarding my professional life, how much more should I pursue diligently and passionately my praise life, my worship life. Increasingly applying myself in the things that pertain to life and Godliness.

We listen to music from a variety of sources, and with technology today, it is so easy to just download a song, or play it right from the internet on our various devices. But should we? I will be the first to admit that purchasing CD after CD can get quite expensive especially when the finances come from our personal stash. But I submit to you that it is exactly what we should consider doing. Well at least buy the individual song we plan to minister to. How can we expect God to bless our ministry when we are dare I say it, stealing from another minister? Rather we should support other worship arts ministers, encouraging them, by purchasing the songs God inspired them to create, and watch His blessings flow. And if you don’t want to purchase the entire CD, at least purchase the one song.
- If God Can Use A Donkey… (0) May 9, 2013
In all my learning, I have found a teacher in everyone I come in contact with. In fact some of my better instructors, have yet to achieve the level of professional success that I have. Yet they are working excellently, and because I am open, and genuine in my search for knowledge and improvement, I am able to learn from any and everyone.

It is an awesome privilege to minister in dance to a congregation of God’s people, but the most awe filled moment in motion ministry is when that dance is truly for an audience of one. Where you can pour out your soul in motion and only One is watching, sharing, and moving with you. There is truly no greater honor.
