  • How Young Is too Young? (0) April 26, 2013

I started my formal dance training at the age of 4, and back then that was old for ballet. It is a good thing I was a quick study, or my dance career would have been cut short as most of my dance mates started when they were 2! When I grew up, I lead a children’s dance ministry, who’s age limit started at 4. Once, I made an exception with this little girl whose mom begged me to allow her at age 3 to minister. She actually was the most attentive of all the dancers, and picked up on the movements extremely fast. I was truly blessed to have her in our ministry.

So how young IS too young to participate in dance ministry?

  • Favorite Songs (0) April 25, 2013

Two of my long time favorite songs are A Servants Prayer – William Murphy, and Moving Forward – Israel Houghton. I can just listen to them on repeat and bask in the melodies and lyrics. My new favorite song, the one I call Javen Come On but Detrick Hadden calls You Are God, can be found under the music tab, and a song I had to hunt down two years ago after hearing it sung on TBN will be added there soon is Masterpiece by Ashmont Hill. This song is super fabulous. I actually called TBN to find out who sung the song and it’s title because I kept catching it at the end! That was funny since I kind of had to sing the lyrics to the prayer partner who agreed that the parts I could remember were pretty and powerful, but  couldn’t really help me.

What is your favorite song or group of songs? Have you ever done something “special” to find one?

  • A Beautiful Sight (0) April 24, 2013
    Psalm 150:6 KJV
Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord.

Recently I had the awesome pleasure of seeing a child with special needs ministering before the Lord. His praise was so pure. His smile so sweet, and he rarely missed a step. What a great joy that was to me watching him praise! He didn’t seem to care if he was seen, or had a lead, he just danced, and it refreshed my soul.

What’s your take on this? Do you have a person with special needs in your praise ministry?

  • Let’s Talk Under Garments (0) April 15, 2013
    Exodus 28:42 KJV
“And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach”

It is as important to carefully consider undergarments as it is to choose the appropriate outter garments when we worship. There should be nothing to distract those we are ministering to from receiving the message in the movement we have labored long to perfect. To that end we should, regardless of size, “cover to remain undiscovered”, or “wrap it and strap it”

By layering our undergarments we are better prepared to present ourselves to properly minister in the worship arts.
